"ROCKIN' AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE"
Dixie Smith Peggy Lee's timeless classic is revisited once again with Dixie singing the lead this time.   Take a trip into yester-year with a new "bee-boppin'" arrangement inspired by a more recent Amy Grant interpretation.

The male voices (Bee-bop chorus) were actually all performed on the keyboard.   Amazing how technology has advanced.  Even voices are clear and believable now when synthesized!

Notes from Doug:
This song ended up being MUCH better than I originally planned.   The moment of excitement happened when I found a "jazz vocals" setting on my Roland FP-3 keyboard.   The bee-bops were so real, I just had to use them.   This song was perfect for using that setting.

Dixie, a church singing friend of mine, was the only choice for the song.   Admittedly, she has focused mainly on ballads, so, this was a stretch for her.   I believe she has reached high and grabbed the bar and is flying high with success on this song.   She is a wonderful friend and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her.

So, everybody- "Come ON!".   Let's rock around the Christmas tree!
