"O COME, ALL YE FAITHFUL"
Jennifer Ferren

Doug Gazlay

Lead Vocals, Chorus & Gospel Jam Singer
Traditional Christmas hymn that takes on a new energy and excitement.   If you think about it, the song is one of joy, rejoicing and great anticipation that the Saviour of the World has been born.   Why should it be a "durge"?

This gospel interpretation was borrowed heavily upon from an arrangement done by Andraé Crouche.   Doug tried to locate the original arranger, but could not locate them.  So, he borrowed the ideas that worked and arranged a totally new intro and ending.

Thoughts from Doug:
This song was the most challenging track on the whole project.   I had 12 different people with schedules and time restrictions that had to be coordinated.   Then, there was the problem of my studio only being able to record one or two people at a time.   So, this "choir" was recorded ONE performer at a time; starting with Dana, then Jennifer, then Robert.    One by one, each voice was added to their part until this angelic choir appeared in the ear!  Amy Thorn, joined the cast at the last minute, and was not included in the chorus as were all the others in the cast.  My good friend- Tim Grissett- joined in on the chorus.  Tim always loves singing choir music and he did a fine job on this recording.

My hat is off to each of the performers for bringing their own energy and style to the recording.   One spot, toward the end, is what I call the "Gospel Jam Session", which features Jennifer, Cheryl and Paige.   Paige is only 13 1/2 years old and she just cut loose and sang "Do it, do it, do it.... "!    Cheryl adds her soulful flavor and Jennifer tops it off with her "get down soul" voice.

The excitement of the recording is topped off with a new section that I arranged because the original- Andraé Crouche version was just "too hard" to figure out how to record without a whole group there together.   So, as usual, I adapted something that worked just for this project.

It was truly the best feeling when Ricky Wibel and I mixed this to hear how the voices blended into a harmonious sweet song.    I'm thrilled and grateful.   "O COME, LET US ADORE HIM, CHRIST- THE LORD"!   A-men!
